A Parent's Warning: Our Nightmare Experience with a Critical Prescription Error 😡
I'm writing this as a warning to other parents about my terrible online shopping experience. We ordered a pair of glasses for our 12-year-old, but he said he had trouble seeing with them. A trip back to the doctor confirmed our fears: the pupil distance (PD) was incorrect. It turns out the glassesusa site does not prompt you to provide the PD number, and if you don’t know to provide it, they will just assume a value. Of course, that means the value will be wrong for many buyers. Please know you will never be able to reach a human at glassesusa and have a real phone conversation if you call them, so plan on frustration if your glasses are not correct. This whole ordeal forced me to try and get a resolution from their customer service.
Customer: I am beyond frustrated. You sent glasses for my 12-year-old son with the wrong pupillary distance. He can't see with them! Why would your website just guess such a critical measurement?
CS Rep: I am so sorry to hear about the issue with your son's glasses and the trouble this has caused. That is certainly not the experience we aim to provide. Can you please give me your order number so I can look into this immediately?
Customer: The order is #54321. It's not just the mistake. It's impossible to get a person on the phone, and your email responses are incredibly slow. My son needs glasses to see in school, and I'm told he'll have to go without while we wait for an exchange.
